Whatsapping with McKenzy Cresswell: ‘It came down to a bad few rounds’

Just recently it was announced that McKenzy Cresswell joined Chris Dittmann Racing in the GB3 Championship, a step up for the youngster. We talked to him about the move, just missing out on the British F4 title last year, his future and more.

By Richard Smyth

The 15-year-old makes the step up to the GB3 Championship from British Formula 4, where he finished second in the Rookie Cup and third overall in the Championship.

He was also only a single point away from claiming second in the Championship, behind Matthew Rees, who is also making the step up to GB3 with JHR Developments.

With six race victories and a further five podiums, Cresswell will be hoping to carry this impressive form in the leading British single-seater series with the team that helped Ayrton Simmons make the step up to FIA Formula 3 at the end of last season.

He took part in several testing days at the end of last season and opted to join Chris Dittmann Racing after having only one season of single-seater racing behind him. The 2021 GB3 Championship will get underway as part of the British GT support series on April 16th at Oulton Park.
