Nissany’s latest penalty this season was for and incident at the F2 Feature Race at Zandvoort, which involved Marino Sato and David Beckmann. He got two penalty points and as a results accumulated 13 over the season.

The ban means the 27-year-old will miss Monza, which will take place next weekend. Nissany had his best finish this season at another Italian track: he finished 4th in the Sprint Race at Imola. He sits 17th in the standings.

The Williams Racing Test Driver is not the first driver to be banned this season. VAR’s Amaury Cordeel and Campos’s Olli Caldwell picked up bans at Baku and the Hungaroring respectively. Cordeel was replaced by David Beckmann at Silverstone, Lirim Zendeli subbed for Caldwell at Spa.

Three drivers being penalised in one Formula 2 or GP2 season has never happened before. The last time multiple drivers got banned was in 2006 when Lucas di Grassi and Sergio Hernandez’s team Durango got banned from competing in the Silverstone Sprint Race.
